Getting things set up

Feature image

Hello, world?

The website is kind of done?!

It’s a work-in-progress, still, but I’m happy with how the site turned out as this feels nice and retro, and the good kind of amateurish, I think.

Getting to know Hetzner’s “KonsoleH” has been a pain, as well as making sure everything is set up correctly. The site is made using Hugo, and while I think it now works as it should, I’ve mostly just copy-pasted stuff from tutorials and only learnt a little. What I did learn is some new CSS tricks, as things have changed quite a bit since I learnt CSS in school in the ’00s. There’s stuff like animations and nested CSS now, nice!

Maybe now I can finally get to blogging? And by blogging, I mean mostly just posting about my projects like I have done on social media before, but now with a tiny bit more intent. I’m also planning on doing some random indie game reviews, or maybe not reviews, but just sharing my thoughts on them - it’d be a perfect excuse for me to actually play more games and to practise my writing. I already thought about writing in Finnish first and auto-translating to English, but I think I like my clunky English better. I personally enjoy flawed, human-made stuff, and I guess that includes poorly written blogs, too :—)
